About
Ma lumière
A citizen initiative for Québec to keep daylight time all year. The name (“my light”) says it all: the light at the end of the day, the light we enjoy after work and school, is yours. In a winter country like ours, every hour of evening light counts.
Our approach
Ma lumière supports daylight time, and says so clearly. A cause is better defended with verifiable facts than with slogans: this site therefore also presents the arguments for standard time, states the level of evidence for each claim and rejects doubtful figures, even when they support daylight time.
The analyses are based on a review of the scientific and grey literature carried out in November 2026, and on official data (National Assembly, Élections Québec, Institut de la statistique du Québec, Ministère des Ressources naturelles et des Forêts). Everything is detailed on the sources and method page.
This is not a Government of Québec website. It contains no advertising.
Privacy
- No cookies, no advertising trackers.
- Your data stays with you. The tools (simulator, MNA lookup, letter, images) do their calculations in your browser. Your name, your full postal code and the text of your letter never leave your device. To find your riding, the site downloads the small file for the first three characters of your postal code (for example “H2X”): like any page visited, this request may appear in the host’s technical logs. The simulator writes your town and schedule into the page address, so you can share it if you wish.
- Geolocation: if you allow it, your location is used only, on your device, to find your municipality or riding. It is neither sent nor stored.
- Emails: the letter to your MNA is sent from your own email account. If you use Gmail or Outlook.com, their privacy policies apply.
- Hosting: like any website, the host may keep technical logs (IP address, page requested) for security and to keep the service running.
If an audience measurement tool is ever added, it will be anonymous, cookie-free, and this section will be updated.
Report an error
